Rare Weeknight Show...TONIGHT (Monday, 2/20)

Happy President's Day!

...yeah - it doesn't mean that much to us, either.  But it IS the evening before Mardi Gras, so that's a damn good reason to come out on a weeknight and get your drink on!  Even better - we're playing a FREE show tonight, so there's no reason NOT to go!

(but for the more faint-of-heart, we are on early, so you can still get home to get your beauty sleep)

To make it interesting for y'all, we're planning on playing some lesser-played TFL songs and covers in addition to some of the good ol' standbys, so come on out because it's gonna be a blast!

TFL In Massachusetts TOMORROW (2/3/12)!

Hey Ya!

Normally when we tour, it's a few different shows on a few different nights in a few different cities, but we're doing a fun one-off tomorrow, so check it out...

Do you know anyone in the Boston/Cambridge area?  If so, send 'em our way because we're playing our first-ever Massachusetts show TOMORROW night!

That's right - we're a bunch of New Yorkers headed up to New England two days before the Giants-Patriots Super Bowl matchup...It should be a helluva great time!  So if you send people and they say you sent them, we'll hook you (and them) up with a little bit of TFL merch!

Lucky Friday the 13th - a FREE Show in NYC!  (1/13/12)

WAKE UP!!!

...it's a new year!  We hope you're having a great one so far.

After our extremely busy (and extremely fun) December with three TFL shows, an internet teevee interview, and of course the holidays, we're nursing our hangovers and slowly opening our eyes... 

Now that we're semi-coherent, we wanna know:

We sure as hell do!  Because our first show of this new year is at our favorite Manhattan club with a couple of our favorite NY punk bands - and it's FREE!

Punk Rock and Sketch Comedy = A Truly NYC Holiday!

So we all thought that our last show for the year was two shows ago.  Shows what we know!

We'd like to give a HUGE thanks to everyone we saw and met in Connecticut this weekend as the guests of our friends The Midightmares.  We had a BLAST!  ...and apparently, others did as well, because the show received a damn fine review (Check the 3rd paragraph HERE )!

The very last TFL show of the year is special to us because it's a first - we're opening the show for an award-winning sketch comedy troupe - THE MISTAKE!  Though the group has been together ten years, this is their very first holiday show: A VERY MISTAKE CHRISTMAS, and we're psyched to be a part of it!

Xmas/Halloween in Stamford (CT) Tomorrow (Sat 12/10)! + A Comedy Show? (12/19)

Howdy!

First off, we'd like to give a HUGE thanks to everyone who came out for the holiday show at Trash Bar - that was a helluva lot of fun!  We saw a lot of old friends, met a lot of new ones, and it got us into the holiday spirit in the proper manner (i.e. Sunday morning with a hangover)!

And just when you (and we) thought TFL was done for the year...We have TWO more shows left before the calendar change.

SHOW ONE - For all you suburbanites - we're playing a show tomorrow night in Stamford (that's SUPER close all you Westchester folks).  We're guests of our friends The Midnightmares and we're one of four bands playing.  Note:  We believe we are on last, but we don't have a definite order for the bands so come on in early, hang out with us, and enjoy some drinks and some other bands!  We know the other bands are pretty good because they've been voted (by Fairfiled Weekly readers) Best Punk Band (Midnightmares), Best Rock Band (Pink Missile), and Best Metal Band (Arcane Malevolence) for 2011.  We, not being from CT, didn't get a single vote!

The show is a make up for the Midnightmares' canceled Halloween Party, so most of the bands will be in costume (including us).  You are encouraged (but not required) to do the same.  Best costume wins prizes from the bands!  And TFL will, of course, be celebrating Christmas with our Holiday cover tunes (Pixie's singing lead)!

SECOND SHOW - we know we said that the last one was the last NYC show for 2011 and it was...until we got a last-minute offer to do a short set opening for a sketch comedy troop.

TFL will be the warm-up for THE MISTAKE when they perform their first-ever holiday show - A VERY MISTAKE CHRISTMAS on Monday, December 19.

This one's gonna be fun as we keep our set short, sweet, and holiday-tinged!

The show is on the Upper East Side (E74th).  We'll have lots more info for you (including advance tix)  in the next e-mail, but for now, mark your calendar!

TFL Holiday Show This Saturday 12/3 in Williamsburg (BKLN)!  Free Stuff!

Season's Greetings!

It's that time of year again...

We've gorged ourselves on Thanksgiving treats and are all way behind in our holiday shopping.  So what better way to ponder the perfect gifts for your loved ones than over some free booze, kickass music, and a gift for yourself?  Answer:  there IS no better way!

Art This Weekend...Big Show NEXT FRIDAY (10/14) + a VIDEO!

Yo!

First off, a HUGE thanks to those friends who came to see us on a Wednesday night in the rain at Webster Hall!  To those of you who show up for damn near every show, we hope you realize how much it means to us (...a WHOLE lot)!

We had a helluva lot of fun, played a kickass show, saw some other kickass bands, and met some great folks.  It was about as much fun as one could legally have on a weeknight!

And now, looking forward, we've got three things to tell you about...

THING 1:  (NOW) We just posted a video of our song ACHIEVER on the TFL youtube page (check it out at: www.youtube.com/tiedforlast).  The video includes performance and rehearsal footage of the band set to the album version of the song.  Watch it!  Comment on it!  Share it with your friends!

The video was directed and edited by our good friend Bobby Carlisto (check out his blog and other work here: http://rcvisuals.blogspot.com/).  He did it out of the goodness of his heart (i.e. GRATIS), so if you see him at a TFL show, buy him a drink!

THING 2:  (THIS WEEKEND) As most of you know, TFL bassist Jen (aka Pixie) is a comic artist.  She writes, illustrates, and publishes the comic CONIES which has characters based on some of the folks in the TFL crew.  But you may NOT have known that she also has a side business as a photograph restoration/repair specialist (see:www.Pixiefixit.com).

Well, this Saturday and Sunday, she'll be manning (womaning?) a table and hawking her wares and services (plus possibly selling some drawings on command) at the Boardwalk Oyster Arts & Music Festival at Playland in Rye, NY.  Information on the festival can be found HERE.  (Yes, we know she's not listed on the page.  It's because she's a late addition)

BIG Show Tomorrow (Wed. 9/21)!

It's rare that TFL gets the opportunity to play with signed touring bands, and it's rarer still when it looks like those bands are actually GOOD!  Add to that, the fact that it's a name venue that we've not yet played, and we can say that we're truly psyched for this show.
