Tied For Last

Officially, Sundays and Mondays at CBGB are usually "tryout" nights, but unofficially, we did a good amount of promotion to try and get people in there, anyway. With confirmations from a bunch of our friends, we thought we'd have a pretty decent crowd with no problem. Unfortunately, for one reason or another, almost no one came! We ended up drawing a crowd of five (of our most loyal) friends. Luckily, there were others in the audience who were not there to see us, but who enjoyed the set very much (including singing along - which is pretty cool for people who've never heard the songs before).

The set itself went off very well. We were pretty tight and energetic throughout. Though Lally thought he wasn't playing up to snuff, he sounded good to me - as did the whole band.
Ultimately, I think the fact that we were playing such a famous stage made up for everything else, and we had fun with it.

Also, it's good to know that we can play at 100% even when somewhat disappointed by the turnout. The people who came down paid their hard-earned money to see a show and they deserve our best. They got it. Some strangers in the crowd were even singing along to some of our songs (pretty awesome considering they'd never heard them previously)!
