Third band of a five-band night

Yet again Walt - the Continental's awesome booking agent - called us to play. Damn, there's nothing cooler than having one of NYC's most celebrated clubs calling us for gigs.

We got a really good crowd for a Tuesday night, which was important because none of the other bands seemed to have a really big showing. We saw a lot of new faces there who were there to see us, so someone's been spreading the word!

"Bloody Tuesday" is sounding damn tight for such a new song, and we (Tom and I, that is) have gained the confidence to go full-speed ahead with him singing and me playing sole guitar on "Wasted."

The show was fun, and we played pretty well, but we were plagued by sound problems for the whole set, and it definitely had a bit of a negative impact on us.

Both Tom and John B commented to me that they couldn't hear themselves at all. Add to that the fact that there were mic problems with the rhythm guitar amp (which resulted in no rhythm guitar through the sound system for the first two-thirds of the show), and I'm suprised that the gig went as well as it did.

I heard the recording of the gig, and we played it damn well under the circumstances. The lack of the second guitar really cut into our sound though, so the people in attendance weren't able to get the full-on TFL experience. But all those people being there really gave us a shitload of energy, and that made the night great!
