Second band of a three band night.

It was a damn cold night and snow was in the forecast, so we weren't expecting a big turnout. Luckily, we were wrong.

There was a very big turnout - especially for a Tuesday. We had a lot of new faces (maybe half the crowd) and they sure picked the right night to come - the show was great!

There were only three bands scheduled, so the promoter pushed back the start time quite a bit (about 45 minutes or so). Normally, we might be a little annoyed, but John G had aparrently gotten very lost on his way down, and showed up about five minutes before we were officially supposed to start, so we didn't say anything.

We had a couple of drummers in the house (Jimmy from the Heaves and P-Girl from her as-yet-unnamed project), but no cymbals or sticks, so we were quite relieved when John finally came in.

John L and I had both come from work, so we were both dressed up (ties and all). We looked like Bosstones. It may look cool, but wearing that much while you're jumping around and screaming makes you hot as hell. By about the fifth song, my tie and suspenders were off, and I was covered in sweat.

Since there were fewer bands, and since we brought the most people by far, we were able to play a long set, so we did all of our songs. We're always at our best when we can relax a bit on stage. Kenny's is like a second home to us and a lot of our friends, so we couldn't have been more comfortable.

The crowd seemed to get into the songs all the way throughout. There's no way to possibly explain how cool it is to see people sing along to your songs. We got a really good response for "Lead You On", which was especially cool, since it was only the second time we've played it out.

We'd also recently re-arranged backing vocals for "We're Alright" and "I'm not Fine", and they sounded much better than they previously had.

Lastly, Janine opted to join us again for "Take Janine Away", and the audience response to that act just gets better and better. If you haven't seen it, you don't know what you're missing.
